Only got time for a quickie? twenty marketing actions that will take less than 15 minutes

A few of my clients are so overwhelmed by the concept of marketing, they see it as an enormous time-sucking monolith. Keen to bust this myth, I've pulled together twenty quick marketing initiatives that will take less than 15 minutes. It illustrates that small actions, repeated lead to big bottom line improvements

Client Experience - initiatives to increase spend per visit / reduce client attrition rate

  1. Use Survey Monkey to create a quick client questionnaire and send it to any client you’ve not seen in the last six months - for added value, add an offer to entice them back ionto clinic. You’ll learn lots about the client experience from this feedback

  2. Review your reception appeal, what are clients and prospects first impression of your clinic

  3. Do the same with phonecalls, does you team need some refresher training on either services or lead management?

  4. Book a mystery shop at your biggest competitor (or get someone else to go)

  5. Call your top five customers and ask for feedback, ask how you could make their time with you better

Planning

  1. Get your diary out check out national days / upcoming events, how can you use those in your marketing calendar - wedding season, Ascot or other race days, New Year, National lip day etc

  2. Look at your website and any printed materials with fresh eyes. Do they aesthetically work together, do they need a creative refresh?

  3. Do some online research on keywords, what are people looking for at the minute, what treatments are in demand, do they match your sales, can you do anything to take advantage of increased demand?

  4. Quickly review your current marketing channels, are there any you can add in easily? Check out this list of channels to get you started

  5. Make a list of three local complimentary businesses you could team up with for some joint marketing activity: event / competition / cross-brand offers etc

Social

  1. Look at your top five competitors on social media, what are they doing, what’s working for them? Any lessons you can take into your own activity?

  2. Check out your historic engagement, what hashtags / themes / copy is working for you, how can you make the most of that?

  3. Spend five minutes taking in-clinic photos for social media, get the post drafts and scheduled (I have a few fave social schedulers, drop me a note and I'll send some names)

  4. Follow and analyse ten new accounts - relevant influencers, practitioners, competitors - I often look at clinics abroad to get some fresh inspiration

  5. Analyse social trends, spend ten minutes seeing what treatments / products / concerns are trending. How can you use this to your advantage?

Power up your online presence

  1. Ask three clients to write a testimonial you can use on your website - in fact have a look at automated testimonial opt ins, they are amazing!

  2. Ask three clients to write you a google review - and respond to any you haven’t. So helpful for SEO

  3. Get someone to do a VX test on your website, any quick changes that could be implemented? Are you losing traffic and leads because people can’t find what they need?

  4. Pick a couple of relevant keywords for you and check out what site come up in search, review and research those sites, get inspiration for your own

  5. Get into Google analytics, review your best and worst performing pages - interrogate why, small tweaks here can deliver big results - we overhauled a contact form for a client and it drove an additional £12,000 month on month within a month.
